Bowness-on-Windermere
is a bustling village set on the shores of Lake Windermere. Bowness
is a very popular holiday destination at any time of the year, deservedly
so. It offers a wide range of activities to holiday makers of all
ages. It has good shops, a wide variety of restaurants and pubs and
some of the best hotels in the Lake District. It has an excellent
cinema, the Old Laundry theatre and regular live entertainment.
Lake Cruises run all the time from Bowness pier situated half a
mile from us. The challenging Windermere golf club is also situated
half a mile from us. |

little car ferry
is a quarter
of a mile from us, which will take you over to the western side of
Lake Windermere, to the home of Beatrix Potter.
Ambleside is a busy village right in the heart of the Lake District
and the northern end of Lake Windermere. It is surrounded by mountains
and stunning scenery combined with interesting shops and excellent
restaurants. Ambleside is a popular all year round destination with
each season bringing its own delights.
